TRADITIONAL HARMFUL PRACTICES AND THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS: FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATIONAND EARLY AND FORCED MARRIAGES

On 19 May at the University of Milan (room 111 – 14.30/17.30) we will host the conference TRADITIONAL HARMFUL PRACTICES AND THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS: FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION. We are grateful to the distinguished speakers, who will deal, from the legal, academic, non-governmental and medical perspectives, with traditional harmful practices, such as genital mutilation and forced and early marriages, in the research for a balance between the protection of fundamental human rights and the respect of cultural diversity.

The conference is co-founded by the European Union within the frame of the Jean Monnet Module Cultural Diversity and Human Rights Law (CultHum) and accredit by the Milan Bar Association (3 credits).
